Tulips are tops!

At a gorgeous pub in Moss Vale, Mr and I were tipped off about Tulip Top Gardens by some fellow travellers. Just outside Canberra, off the Federal Highway, we discovered that it was an oasis of flowers and a total visual spectacular. It is so secluded and hidden from the road, that you would never know it was there ~ like a real life secret garden. Did I mention that they also served free sausage sizzles and devonshire teas... Perfection!

The entire garden is the sole work of a husband and wife team who every year sow half a million bulbs. Truly amazing!

I love this photo. It looks like a pretty sheet of wrapping paper.

I also love this one. The yellow daffodils look like they are in love!

Puppy love...

"Whoever said you can't buy happiness, forgot little puppies." ~ Gene Hill

Today I felt like sharing the puppy love! As Jack and Georgie often remind me: Don't worry, be happy!

On the road again...

It feels nice to be back in the land of blog, however bittersweet as Mr and I are sad that our holiday road trip is over. The next few posts will be highlights from our trip. No. 1 ~ Berrima ~ a storybook village in the New South Wales Southern Highlands. As you will see the houses were all perfect...not most, all!

Magpie's Cafe and Restaurant where Mr and I placed ourselves in a sugar coma with their great coffees and Greek coconut cake at 9.30am!

Buddhas and pom poms!

Love...my white ceramic buddha.
Found in an art gallery in Byron Bay, it took me almost an eternity to pay off in lay bys as a poor uni student. It is a one off piece by a local artist and I fell in love with it the moment I saw it.
Also love...Martha Stewart tissue paper pom poms. I have seen them all over blog land and had my first attempt at one tonight (as seen next to my buddha). So easy and sooo simple. I feel they will be a bit like Pringles...once you start, you just can't stop!

Someone's junk is another's treasure...

I spotted these side tables on a neighbour's nature strip the other week when there was a council clean up. I dragged Mr out with me in the dark to grab them and I just love them.

At first, I thought that a lick of paint would do the trick. However, after I wiped them down, I preferred them all chippy and shabby. They now take pride of place in our bedroom!

...your friends make your world.

On a recent trip to Chicago, my close friend Sarsha, popped into the Anthropologie store. Knowing that it is my favourite shopping mecca...she surprised me with a few goodies that I just had to share...

An entire pad of perforated recipe bookmarks!
When I'm on track, I try to plan the meals for the week. So these will be well used and loved.

A wise owl door stopper...

...and a cutsie tea towel that it just too gorgeous to use. I have it hanging in the kitchen on display instead.

And finally a charming little magnet that states, "Wherever you are, it is your friends who make your world" - William Jones. Thanks Sarsh and visit the Anthropologie store http://www.anthropologie.com/ or visit the link on the Jack and Georgie home page. They now ship to the land of Oz! Happy shopping and here's to good friends!

Pretty peg dolls

A few pretty peg dolls that I create from time to time...inspired by the wonders of Lollipop Workshop (check out their etsy store!). I have to purchase the supplies online from stores in the US. Phat Fabric and Pretty Ditty etsy store are good places to start.

These last ones I made for good friends when they got married as a bit of fun. They had just moved into an eco village...hence the chooks! The dolls have been photographed in their new home on a side board in a pretty sun filled lounge room.
